well, well, well. here we are again. last year, summer ran out the door without so much as a hug or a backwards glance. i’d been thrust into a job i wasn’t sure about, but it sure did make time fly. this year, summer’s departure feels like a lingering kiss - one i’m fully present in LOL (you can kiss me as long as you want, fall!!!!). i’m committed to enjoying this kiss while it lasts… it’ll probably be december when my eyes open… 👀

september highlights included two concerts in quick succession (kikuo and bôa), and a play called ‘shopping and fucking’.
i really wanted to write a whole long thing about the play, but lacked the emotional energy required to strike while the iron was hot. when i brought this up to my friend lebrie, she said i didn’t have to. SO TRUE. life is simple, yet we’re so determined to complicate it. here’s a little something though… 😆
without further ado: the world’s shortest play review
shopping and fucking.
turbulent, raw, startlingly immersive. a mirror reflecting the audience added a tinge of voyeurism, making us equally complicit in the nature of human shortcomings.
what do we find ourselves turning a blind eye to? is there truly such thing as a passive audience? there’s nowhere to hide!!
we did not leave happy in an emotional sense, but struck by the production, acting, and the weight of a successfully executed work of art. would i desire to experience it again? …no, but respectfully. the piece did its job, and i’m glad we got to experience it. afterwards, we processed our emotions over cajun tots at the closest available mcmenamins. i recommend this for just about anything. ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪

have you ever been up at 3:30 am furiously typing into the notes app?! huge shoutout to my boyfriend who patiently listened to ALL of my weird dreams, visions, old memories, and epiphanies. i’ve never experienced an emotional purge on this level, but this after feeling is unmatched in clarity.

✿ the world is designed to keep us removed from spirituality because it gives us the power to see through the distractions: creating culture of self doubt vs intuition, individualism and separation of community, forgetting our innate desire for oneness and love
✿ everyone and everything that i’ve ever experienced is a puzzle piece and clue to the lesson needed to be learned + the pieces of self yet to be healed
✿ check your belief systems creating your internal reality - i finally uprooted something from childhood (too long to get into, but it blew my mind when i realized that my perception of what happened back then is NOT the truth and i don’t have to subscribe to it)
✿ karma forces us to evolve: we’re hurting each other and we can’t help it within the chaos and the separation we’re meant to experience here - as a result, it’s necessary to vibrate higher than your pain to see its role and greater context in your soul’s journey. doing this over and over as a collective has us in an upward spiral, and also why it takes many lifetimes and roles to accomplish.

🗣️ I LOVE MARINE ANIMALS!!!!!! we went to ballard locks to see some ~salmon~ and was greeted right away by sea lions splashing around the river!!! this was probably the worst day to forget my binoculars AND monocular (newly acquired) but still had a great time watching seals + sea lions + seagulls with my plain raw eyeballs. 🥹
